The new Toshiba 62HM95 rear projection TV incorporates advanced design and technologies to further enhance the home theater experience. Starting with the new TALEN light engine, enhanced with DEEP Picture (Digitally Enhanced Engine Performance) technology creating sharper more vibrant images. It not only delivers an extraordinary picture, but is equipped with built-in reception capability for both over-the-air and cable HD programming (for digital cable reception, you'll need to get a CableCARD from your local service provider.) The 62HM95 uses the new Radiance 150 Hi-Bright Lamp for noticeably brighter images. The lamp's unique Instant Restart feature allows the TV to be turned on immediately after shutdown, unlike other lamp-based models. It also employs the TheaterFine DFP Screen technology with Anti-Glare Coating that results in increased detail and noticeably deeper blacks.
The 62HM95 is a pleasure to use, thanks in part to the free TV Guide On Screen interactive program guide. Also included is one of the most flexible and future-ready sets of A/V connections. In addition to two component video inputs, you'll find two HDMI digital inputs (HDMI is quickly becoming the connection of choice for high-end A/V). And for expanded playback and recording options, you get two IEEE 1394 "DTVLink" ports for easy pushbutton HD recording with Toshiba's Symbio digital video recorder.
Integrated HD DLP Projection TV with ATSC/QAM Tuners - enables the set to receive digital cable-in-the-clear signals, as well as digital terrestrial broadcasts.
TV Guide On Screen Interactive Program Guide w/ IR Out - This on-screen guide, featured on all 2005 Toshiba integrated HDTVs, combines programming from each of the television's internal tuners into one, east-to-read on screen program guide. TV Guide On Screen makes it easy to locate desired programs and is a crucial feature for digital cable. Simple, one-touch recording of programs, including HDTV, is also possible when connected to Toshiba's new Symbio A/V Hard Drive Recorder.
TheaterNet Icon IR/1394 Control System - This control system simplifies the control of external components connected through both the IEEE1394 ports and IR jacks. Easy to read menus and on-screen graphic prompts make the operation of connected components quick and easy.
HDMI - High Definition Multimedia Interface is the next generation of DVI. It includes the DVI digital video signal, and multi-channel digital audio signals on a single cable.
IEEE 1394 (2) Ports (DTV Link) - a compressed digital interface for sending and receiving standard and high definition signals, to insure optimum picture performance from compressed digital signals.
Dolby Digital Output - Delivers Dolby Digital signature 5.1 track digital audio through a simple, one-cable connection to any Dolby Digital receiver. On many models this can also be accessed via a fiber optic TosLink. All Toshiba DVD-Audio models offer onboard Dolby Digital decoding through six individual analog outputs for use with Dolby Digital Ready receivers.
New Talen (Toshiba Advanced Light Engine) DLP Engine with IDEAL Picture - Toshiba Advanced Light Engine is proprietary light engine technology, designed and built by Toshiba, for Toshiba. TALEN utilizes advanced optics, and the step-up TI HD2+ DLP Chip, to create Toshiba's outstanding picture quality. The new Talen light engine is enhanced with DEEP Picture (Digitally Enhanced Engine Performance) technology creating sharper more vibrant images.
Improved Toshiba PixelPure 2 Proprietary Digital Video Processing with RAVE technology - PixelPure is a suite of 8 different digital video processing circuits that combine to create a consistently clearer, deeper and more accurate picture. PixelPure is the key to Toshiba's fixed pixel picture quality; it is the processing that makes the picture.
CableClear DNR+ (by Input) - CableClear utilizes the Digital 3D/YC Comb Filter to compare frames and determine the existence and extent of video noise. It then applies the needed amount of digital video noise reduction, and the appropriate sharpness adjustment to keep the picture clear. This feature now works on RF, composite and S-Video inputs, and can be selected by input.
SRS WOW - SRS WOW technology takes the performance of the television's existing speakers to a whole new level, offering superior sound quality with no additional peakers required, SRS WOW consists of three separate sound expanding systems, which work together to extract "buried" highs and lows. The three systems are, SRS 3D, TruBass, and FOCUS. SRS 3D creates a three dimensional sound field from just two speakers, thus giving the listener the feeling of hearing a multi speaker surround sound system. TruBass produces a powerful, yet low, frequency sound by utilizing a process called psychoacoustics. From only two small speakers, TruBass will give the effect of an expensive sub bass woofer that will leave the listener amazed by the quality of the sound. FOCUS was added to direct the energy from the speakers of the television set in a vertical direction up towards the listener's ears. The addition of FOCUS means that there is virtually no loss of sound from the speaker's position on the bottom panel near the floor, which achieves a clear, undistorted range of audio.
Separate Woofers and Tweeters - provides more accurate full range sound using only the television's built-in speakers.
StableSound - This feature maintains television volume within a preset range regardless of the source signal. Eliminates the annoyance of normal program volume being followed immediately by extremely loud commercial messages or drastic volume fluctuations while changing channels.
Digital Cable Ready (DCR) CableCARD Slot - Toshiba Integrated HDTVs are Digital Cable Ready. They include QAM tuning and a CableCARD slot. Insert a CableCARD supplied by your cable provider and the TV can receive applicable cable channels without the use of a cable box (excluding bi-directional channels/services such as Video On Demand).
New Radiance 150 Hi-Bright Lamp with Quick Restart - Toshiba 2005 DLP Projection TVs utilize a 150-Watt DC lamp. In addition to exceptional light purity and reduced flicker, this lamp also has two user-friendly features. High Brightness and Low Power Modes allow the user to choose different wattage for daytime with ambient room light, and for nighttime in a dark room, to extend the lamp life. This lamp also has the unique Instant Restart feature, allowing the TV to be turned on immediately after shutdown, unlike other lamp-based TVs.
TheaterNet Device Control System (1394/IR) - This control system simplifies the control of external components connected through both the IEEE1394 ports and IR jacks. Easy to read menus and on-screen graphic prompts make the operation of connected components quick and easy
6-Item A/V Illuminated Remote with DVD & Audio Control - This ergonomically designed remote puts all the "most needed" functions in reach of your thumb, making operation a snap, and because it's illuminated, it's great for operating in a darkened home theater environment. The remote comes preprogrammed to operate up to six home theater components, including a TV, DVD player, VCR, Cable Box, and two other video or audio components.
HD Window POP with Split Screen and 12 MultiWindows - This advanced system can accept 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i signals, and can even display 4:3 and 16:9 images on the screen at the same time. The split screen function allows the user to increase or decrease the size of the POP boxes, making one larger than the other. The MultiWindow system enables the consumer to continue to view the main picture in a large POP box while viewing Favorite Channels, or channel scanning in the other smaller POP boxes.
Benefit: HD Window POP (picture on picture) is a versatile and convenient feature for the age of HD as it lets the user watch two programs simultaneously, even HD sources.
Tri-Lingual Color Icon On-Screen Display - All TV functions can be easily operated using the remote control to access Toshiba's advanced on-screen display. This full-featured system can be operated in English, French or Spanish. By using the four cursor buttons on the remote control, your favorite features or settings are only a click away.
Off/Sleep Timer - The Sleep Timer allows you to fall asleep watching TV and have the TV turn itself off up to three hours later (in 10-minute intervals).
OmniViewer - Slots for five different types of memory cards, including SD (Secure Digital), MM (Multi-Media), MS (Memory Stick), CF (Compact Flash), and SM (Smart Media). In addition, OmniViewer includes a JPEG Viewer program that allows the TV to display pictures from most digital cameras. Pictures can be rotated, and can be viewed in an automatic presentation format.
