Just about half of all of the households in America have five or more devices connected to the Internet. What’s more, 90% of the entire U.S. population has three or more devices connected to the Internet.
At one point in time, people would use their computer as the “home base”. It would store the iTunes library. House all of the photos we’ve ever taken (even the embarrassing prom shots with the worst date ever… shudder), and all of the large software like Microsoft Office and Photoshop were only compatible with large hard drives like laptops.
However, when your calendar is synced with your Gmail account, your iTunes is synced with your laptop, and your pictures are housed on your iPad, new methods for organization are in order. While tablets will help increase your productivity, wouldn’t it be amazing if all of your devices had everything your needed?
Welcome to the Cloud.
Cloud-based storage services are some of the best ways to sync up all of your devices. Also it will keep a central location for all of your files, accounts, pictures, and music. Rather than depending on one specific device, cloud storage is internet-based, essentially allowing you the freedom to store all of your files on the Internet, available for access at any given time. Apple and Android both have cloud-based storage available, and once you sync all of your mobile devices to the central cloud, all of your devices are able to pull from that storage.
So, that prom picture as a #ThrowbackThursday? No problem. Access the cloud, grab the picture, and post it. No wires necessary.
Google Drive
Another cloud-based storage is Google Drive. Download Drive to all of your devices, and sync them all up with your Gmail account. Now your emails, contacts, reminders, and calendar events will pop up on all of your devices (it’s like a personal assistant, but free!)
Get organized and increase productivity with cloud-based storage. When you sync all of you devices, your phone, tablet, computer, laptops, and all internet-connected devices work together, so you never have to worry about scheduling a reminder on your laptop that doesn’t ping to your phone as well.
