The new set for release this November 30th, 2017, is turning heads in the photography world. It shares similar specifications of the Sony α7R II and α9, recognized as a hybrid of both. It boasts 42.4MP, same as the α7R II, but the 15 stops of dynamic range give it a leg up. AF performance is twice as fast as the α7R II; its mirrorless technology and 4K HDR video combines well with the exciting new features.
Sony stated the α7R III to have the highest image quality yet in the Sony line. 10 fps using both the electronic or mechanical shutter in compressed or uncompressed raw would do it. Focusing is dramatically easier with image stabilization built into the body. The all-new shutter greatly reduces vibration. A huge new feature is eye detection with continuous shooting perfect for photo shoots.
Another big development is the pixel shift sensor. Made for product or still photography, it captures every pixel for a cleaner more detailed image in 42.2MP raw! The α7R III shares the same body as the α7 with an added joystick, touchscreen, and two card slots. The battery life is awesome, comparable to the α9, and you can charge via USB-C and micro-USB. Its offered at aggressive pricing and definitely a game changer for Sony photography.
