Watching football with friends? Check. Jumping into leaves? Check. Sipping a Pumpkin Spice Latte from your favorite coffee house? Check. These are a few of our favorite things about fall. But not only are the coffee house drinks expensive, they’re also full of sugar! So why not just make your own? For just a fraction of the cost of a fancy coffee, you can make your own, healthier pumpkin flavored drinks. Here are some low-carb coffee recipes for you to try this fall!
Pumpkin Spice Latte
This latte makes a cozy drink for those cold autumn days. If you want it sweet but don’t want your blood sugar to spike, try adding a few drops of stevia. If you want natural sweeteners, try one to two tablespoons of raw honey or maple syrup. It will add some carbs and sugar to your coffee, but it will still be healthier than the coffee house version! Warm 1 cup unsweetened almond milk in a small saucepan until frothy. Whisk in 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree, 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice, ½ tsp cinnamon and ½ tsp vanilla extract until smooth. Add desired amount of sweetener to your coffee brewed in your Cuisinart Premium Single Serve Coffeemaker from Buydig.com and pour into the steamed milk mixture. Top with whipped cream and enjoy. Each serving has around 50 calories, 4 grams of carbohydrates, 4 grams of fat, 2 grams of protein, and 2 grams of fiber.
Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew Coffee
Scrumptious fall flavors and cold brew coffee make up a lower calorie option than your typical coffee house favorite. In a large bowl, combine 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 1 ½ cups organic low-fat milk, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp cinnamon and 2 TBS pumpkin puree. Whisk until combined. Pour into a glass jar or bottle and store in the refrigerator for up to three weeks. Make your cold brew coffee in the KitchenAid Cold Brew Coffee Maker and add Pumpkin Spice Creamer to taste.
Low Carb Salted Caramel Latte
This recipe will not only help cut down on your carb intake, but also your salt! Start by making your own ooey, gooey sugar-free salted caramel sauce. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Pour 1 cup of low carb sweetened condensed milk into a glass baking dish. Stir in 2 tsp molasses and ½ tsp kosher salt. Cover tightly with foil. Place dish in a larger roasting pan and fill with water to cover ¾ of the way up the sides of the baking dish. Bake 1 ½ hours. Whisk until smooth and let cool. Transfer to a glass container and store in the refrigerator. To make your latte, heat ¾ cup unsweetened almond milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until steaming. Brew strong coffee in your KitchenAid 8-Cup Pour Over Coffee Brewer from Buydig.com. Add salted caramel sauce to the bottom of a coffee mug or glass. Add coffee and almond milk mixture. Top with whipped cream and drizzle with a teaspoon of sauce. Each serving has just 6g of carbs!
