Summer is here and before you head to your favorite campground, check out these sanity-saving tips and tricks that will help make your time outdoors even more enjoyable.
Campfire Cooking
Use mini pie tins to pre-make individual servings of your favorite foods like macaroni and cheese servings that can be heated over the fire later.
Simplify skillet pancakes by pouring batter into freezer bags before you leave, store them in the Coleman Camping 120qt Marine Cooler from Buydig.com, and then snip off the tip when you’re ready to make breakfast.
Make orange rolls over the fire by using orange peels. Cut oranges in half and scoop out the insides. Place a Pillsbury Grand Orange Flavor Roll in each half and place on a baking sheet. Cover them with foil and place over your campfire until they have risen. Add icing and enjoy!
Make travel coffee bags by placing a scoop of coffee grounds into a coffee filter and tying it up with dental floss. When you’re ready to brew, just make it like you would make tea in a tea bag.
Make these campfire popcorn satchels by placing popcorn and oil on an 18-inch square of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Seal the edges to form a loose pouch, leaving room for the kernels to pop. Tie a corner of the pouch to a stick with a piece of string. Shake over the fire until popped.
For the Kids
Pick up some items from the dollar store . Create some camping kits that will keep the kids entertained while you’re busy cooking or setting up camp.
Keep the kids busy by creating a scavenger hunt. Write the items on a paper bag so they have somewhere to place the items.
Comforts of Home
Repurpose a coffee can to hold and protect your toilet paper.
Strap a head lamp to a gallon jug of water to fill the entire Coleman Camping Tent from Buydig.com with ambient light.
Use foam floor tiles for a softer, more comfortable tent floor. The mats help to shield your feet from the gravel beneath the tent. This hack also helps insulate the floor from cold air, keeping your Coleman Camping SupportRest Double High Airbed that you filled with your Coleman Camping Air Quick Pump or sleeping pad nice and comfy.
Create a hand-washing station by filling an empty laundry detergent container or a Coleman Camping 2 Gallon Jug w/ Faucet with water and placing a bucket below to catch runoff water.
These tips and hacks will guarantee you’ll be a happy camper this summer.

Hey Lauren, a lot of good ideas here to keep the kids busy. I may need to borrow a few for our camping trip next summer. Coffee tin to keep the toilet paper dry is genius.
