The end of summer is fast approaching, which means that the new school year is just around the corner. Before the homework and after school activities begin, make sure to help them enjoy the last few weeks of the warm weather. These activities are not only fun, they can be done right in your own backyard!
Baseball
Break out your Rawlings baseball mitt from Buydig.com and start a friendly game of baseball. There are plenty of creative ways to play even if you don’t have enough people to make up two complete teams. Try the classic game called 500 where a batter hits a pop fly and the fielders have to catch it. Points are given based on whether the ball was caught in the air or on a bounce. Or the game Flipp, where you stand in a circle and play “Hot Potato” with your baseball glove. You can even enjoy this sport alone if you have a Rawlings Batting Practice Protective L-Screen.
Backyard golf
Most young children don’t have the attention span or the patience to play a round of actual golf on a course. And not every town has a miniature golf course for families to enjoy together. Don’t let these things stand in the way of some family golf time! Play mini-golf by setting up a course in your driveway by laying out different size containers on their sides. Or for the big kids, if you have access to a large field, have a driving competition and measure the distance each person hits their ball with a Nikon Golf Laser Rangefinder from Buydig.com.
Shoot some hoops
If your kids like basketball, H-O-R-S-E is a great way for them to practice their shots. Played with at least two people, each player attempts to miss the least amount of baskets. Once a basket is missed, the player receives a letter H, O, R, S or E. When the player misses five shots, thus earning all five letters of the word, they have lost the game.
Races
Set up cones in your yard, driveway, or if you’re fortunate enough to live on a dead end street, block the street off if your neighbors don’t mind and organize some multi-wheeled races. You can accommodate kids of any age with trikes for the youngest, 3-wheeled kick scooters and 2-wheeled scooters for your elementary aged racers, skateboards for your older kids, and of course bikes for kids of all ages.
Rainy day fun
On days when the weather doesn’t cooperate, you can still be actively involved with your kids indoors. There’s an endless amount of fun to be had on the Samsung 40” Ultra HD Smart LED TV. Easily find and play your kids’ favorite movies, TV shows and games with the Samsung Smart Hub.
There are so many options for outdoor fun you and your kids will enjoy. The best part about backyard games is you don’t need very much to keep the kids entertain
ed. So get out and enjoy the last days of summer!
